I also build web apps using the TALLTailwind CSS, Alpine, Laravel, Livewire stack, React, and Next.js.
01. About Me
Hi, I’m Faisal. I began my career as a web developer in Kabul, Afghanistan, after completing my Bachelor’s in Computer Science. Seeking to broaden my skills, I moved to Berlin to gain more experience and explore new opportunities in the tech world.
While working as a software developer for web applications, I realized that understanding servers and infrastructure was a crucial skill I was missing. This curiosity led me to dive into DevOps and system operations. Today, I combine my web development experience with expertise in infrastructure and deployment, building applications that are not only functional but also robust, scalable, and efficiently deployed.
In my current role, I focus primarily on servers, deployments, and infrastructure, ensuring production applications run smoothly across environments. At the same time, I also develop internal web applications for my team, allowing me to stay connected to full-stack development and deliver solutions that are reliable and maintainable.

Infrastructure & Datacenter Operations (Linux / Kubernetes)
August 2024 - Present
- ▹ Operate and maintain on-prem infrastructure (Linux servers, virtualization, storage, and networking) to ensure reliable and secure service delivery
- ▹ Plan and operate Kubernetes environments, including cluster architecture, namespace and workload design, and preparation for production deployments
- ▹ Deploy and operate internal web applications and platform services, managing releases across environments (development, testing, production)
- ▹ Collaborate closely with third-party consultancies and vendors on Kubernetes and infrastructure topics, aligning external expertise with internal requirements
- ▹ Develop internal web applications and tooling that allow other departments to interact with backend systems in a controlled manner, exposing only required functionality and access
- ▹ Design and enforce access boundaries and operational guardrails for internal services to improve security, usability, and system stability
- ▹ Automate infrastructure operations and application deployments using Ansible and scripting to increase consistency and reduce operational risk
- ▹ Implement and maintain monitoring and alerting (e.g., Checkmk) to ensure visibility into system health and service performance
- ▹ Plan, execute, and test backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and operational continuity
- ▹ Perform functional and operational testing of infrastructure changes, deployments, and platform updates before production rollout
- ▹ Lead troubleshooting, incident handling, and root-cause analysis across infrastructure and platform layers, documenting findings and improvements
